About This Role

Manage and supervise a geotechnical department in the Ft. Lauderdale and Miami area, focusing on major freeway, bridge, and commercial construction projects. Oversee project compliance, cultivate client relationships, and drive business development to support company growth.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare proposals and cost estimates for projects
  • Perform business and client development activities with Office Manager support
  • Develop and manage employee staffing plans, recruitment, selection, and on-boarding with Office Manager support
  • Prepare and execute annual business plan for the department with Office Manager support
  • Oversee and manage key department metrics: revenue growth, staff chargeability, project billing/collections, and project profitability with Office Manager support
  • Develop understanding of project-related risk and protection strategies for the company
  • Lead safety efforts, ensure team follows safety rules, and promote pre-task planning
  • Monitor and promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects
  • Provide consistent quality standards on project and proposal delivery

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology
  • 5 years' practice experience, or 9 years' related experience in lieu of degree

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree or PhD
  • Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer status
