General Laborer

About This Role

Perform General Laborer duties in a manufacturing environment, assisting welders and ensuring efficient production and shipping operations. Support the team by preparing materials, operating robotic welding equipment, and maintaining a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in staging production for welders and others, supplying necessary supplies, fixtures, and pallets
• Prepare fabrications for shipping, including palletizing, banding, wrapping, and labeling
• Ensure all materials are unloaded, verified, checked for damage, and transferred to designated locations daily
• Operate robotic welding equipment to produce scissor assemblies and fabricated metal parts, loading and unloading parts
• Check quality of welds and perform basic troubleshooting for robotic welding equipment
• Observe robot operation to detect defects or machine malfunctions and report issues
• Chip or grind off burrs, sharp edges, excess weld, slag, or spatter using hand or bench grinders and power tools
• Perform various maintenance and custodial duties
• Follow safety regulations and observe environment to ensure safe working conditions

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read measurement devices such as tape measure, combination square, carpenters square, T square

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Nice to Have

• Previous experience welding in a manufacturing industry
• Previous experience with brake presses, welding, shipping and receiving
• Ability to develop more specialized skills in welding, blueprint readings, machine operation
