This role is responsible for the on-site supervision of foremen and craft personnel, ensuring safety, productivity, and quality while managing costs. This involves scheduling resources and ensuring work adheres to specifications and contract requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide consistent leadership in the area of safety and perform field safety observations
- Supervise and set direction for all foremen and craft labor on-site
- Schedule equipment, materials and tools to effectively utilize all resources and maximize production
- Ensure safe working conditions and enforce company, jobsite specific, federal, and state safety regulations
- Communicate with Superintendent on project problem areas and status
- Collaborate with Superintendent to plan for manpower needs and proper staffing
- Compare labor and equipment production and efficiency to the job estimate and inform Superintendent of cost over-runs
- Mentor Field Foremen on work discipline, production costs, scope of work, quality, and safety
- Work with HR and Safety & Training Departments to schedule and support training and employee development
- Serve as a professional point of contact for customers and storm restoration mobilizations
Requirements
- High school diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Eight years of applicable electrical utility and/or electrical contractor industry experience
- Thorough understanding of electric utility safety and operational procedures
- Extensive knowledge of Distribution underground and overhead systems, operating methods, construction, maintenance, switching, safety, tools, equipment and work methods
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to become proficient in use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point)
- Strong organizational leadership skills
- Excellent reading comprehension and interpretation abilities
- Problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Eight years of applicable electrical utility and/or electrical contractor industry experience
Nice to Have
- Four years of related supervisory experience as a distribution foreman
