General Engineer

About This Role

Serve as a Systems Engineer supporting the technical baseline development and acquisition of Naval Aviation Systems, applying advanced theories and delivering optimized technical solutions. This role provides technical guidance, meets customer requirements, and ensures engineering requirements are met.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Systems Engineering position supporting the technical baseline development and Acquisition of Naval Aviation Systems
• Apply advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes in research and engineering, test and evaluation, and logistics functions
• Deliver optimized technical solutions that are balances to achieve required technical performance within cost, schedule and technology constraints
• Function as a team lead/project lead/program manager providing technical guidance and meeting customer requirements for products/services
• Provide authoritative input and advice on all engineering and technical issues and ensures engineering requirements are met
• Develops project-planning objectives for engineering development of current and long range programs
• Perform or directs technical analyses required during the development phase
• Assist in the preparation, planning and development of integrated logistics support plans for assigned systems
• Maintains continuous contact with research and development personnel in order to be informed on all new engineering and scientific developments of assigned systems
• Organize and perform technical reviews to ensure adequate resources for assigned systems

Requirements

• Suitable for federal employment
• Ability to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance
• At least one year of experience at or equivalent to the pay band DP-03 in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
• Professional engineering degree OR Engineer Intern (EI) / Engineer in Training (EIT) / Professional Engineer (PE) registration OR passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam OR 60 semester hours in physical/mathematical/engineering sciences OR bachelor's in science with 1 year professional engineering experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET or equivalent, OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE), OR Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination, OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences, OR Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field with at least one year of professional engineering experience.
• At least one year of experience at or equivalent to the pay band DP-03 in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
