This role will train on all aspects of successfully running a store in preparation to manage your own ALDI store. You will supervise day-to-day store activities, ensure overall store performance, and develop the team.
Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day operations and performance of the team to provide the highest level of customer service
- Communicate and model core company values to create a sense of teamwork
- Handle customer concerns and ensure appropriate resolution
- Ensure proper store signage is maintained and monitor quality and freshness of products
- Assist in hiring store personnel by reviewing resumes, applications, and conducting interviews
- Prepare, manage, and revise weekly schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels
- Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports
- Conduct annual performance evaluations and recommend personnel for advancement or termination
- Achieve store payroll and total loss budgets
- Oversee product merchandising and maintain proper stock levels through appropriate product ordering
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Ability to provide and lead others in prompt and courteous customer service
- Ability to develop rapport, trust, and open communication with direct reports
- Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures
- Ability to establish goals and guide employee performance
- Ability to evaluate and drive performance of self and others
- Ability to understand and apply management principles concerning budgeting, personnel costs, and expenses
- Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately
- Ability to safely and properly operate equipment including electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler
- Ability to stay organized and multi-task with attention to detail
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment
