About This Role

Train on all aspects of successfully running a retail store for ALDI USA, supervising daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring overall store performance.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day operations and team performance to provide high-level customer service
  • Understand company strategy, communicate and model core values to foster teamwork
  • Handle customer concerns and ensure appropriate resolution
  • Ensure proper store signage, quality, and freshness of ALDI products
  • Assist in hiring store personnel by reviewing resumes, applications, and conducting interviews
  • Prepare, manage, and revise weekly schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels
  • Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports
  • Conduct store meetings
  • Identify training and development opportunities for direct reports
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations, recommending store personnel for advancement and termination
  • Achieve store payroll and total loss budgets
  • Manage cash audits according to company guidelines
  • Monitor the competitive environment and make recommendations for adjustments
  • Provide product feedback, including recommendations for new or discontinued items
  • Provide a safe environment by identifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment
  • Oversee product merchandising and maintain stock levels through appropriate product ordering
  • Conduct store inventory counts and reconciliations
  • Comply with all established company policies and procedures, upholding security and confidentiality

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to provide and lead others in prompt and courteous customer service
  • Ability to develop rapport, trust, and open communication
  • Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures
  • Ability to establish goals and guide employee performance
  • Ability to evaluate and drive performance of self and others
  • Ability to understand and apply management principles (budgeting, personnel costs, expenses)
  • Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately
  • Ability to safely and properly operate equipment (electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, cardboard baler)
  • Ability to stay organized, multi-task, follow instructions, and give attention to detail
  • Meets any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment, prior management experience preferred
