Train on all aspects of successfully running a retail store for ALDI USA, supervising daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring overall store performance.
Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day operations and team performance to provide high-level customer service
- Understand company strategy, communicate and model core values to foster teamwork
- Handle customer concerns and ensure appropriate resolution
- Ensure proper store signage, quality, and freshness of ALDI products
- Assist in hiring store personnel by reviewing resumes, applications, and conducting interviews
- Prepare, manage, and revise weekly schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels
- Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports
- Conduct store meetings
- Identify training and development opportunities for direct reports
- Conduct annual performance evaluations, recommending store personnel for advancement and termination
- Achieve store payroll and total loss budgets
- Manage cash audits according to company guidelines
- Monitor the competitive environment and make recommendations for adjustments
- Provide product feedback, including recommendations for new or discontinued items
- Provide a safe environment by identifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment
- Oversee product merchandising and maintain stock levels through appropriate product ordering
- Conduct store inventory counts and reconciliations
- Comply with all established company policies and procedures, upholding security and confidentiality
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to provide and lead others in prompt and courteous customer service
- Ability to develop rapport, trust, and open communication
- Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures
- Ability to establish goals and guide employee performance
- Ability to evaluate and drive performance of self and others
- Ability to understand and apply management principles (budgeting, personnel costs, expenses)
- Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately
- Ability to safely and properly operate equipment (electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, cardboard baler)
- Ability to stay organized, multi-task, follow instructions, and give attention to detail
- Meets any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment, prior management experience preferred
