About This Role

The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise while ensuring safe and efficient operations. This role will primarily operate sit-down and/or clamp forklift equipment and may also perform order filler or checker duties.

Responsibilities

  • Stack and store merchandise in designated areas using a forklift, clamp, or push-pull equipment
  • Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations
  • Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring exact numbers and types are loaded
  • Perform picking duties efficiently to meet customer service standards
  • Move product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods
  • Maintain appropriate records and reports to guarantee inventory control and security
  • Assist in physical inventories and ensure proper stock rotation
  • Conduct cycle counts as requested
  • Report safety concerns to management in a timely manner
  • Report inventory discrepancies to the inventory control team and assist in resolution
  • Complete inspection forms prior to operating equipment
  • Use RF scanning equipment to ensure inventory accuracy

Requirements

  • At least 3 months forklift experience and/or using warehouse distribution equipment
  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours
  • Ability to lift and/or pull 50 lbs without restriction
  • Ability to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions, and temperature variation
  • Ability to access all areas of building without limitations
  • Availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic safety understanding in operating equipment
  • Excel knowledge and general computer knowledge
  • Ability to use RF scanning equipment

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED preferred
  • At least 3 months forklift experience and/or using warehouse distribution equipment
