Forklift Operator

About This Role

Operate material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise safely and efficiently. Perform order filler or checker duties as needed to support warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Stack and store merchandise in designated areas using a forklift, clamp, push-pull equipment
• Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations
• Pull and prepare products for shipment
• Ensure that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped
• Perform picking duties in an efficient manner meeting customer service standards
• Move product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers
• Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods
• Maintain appropriate records and reports to guarantee inventory control and security
• Assist in physical inventories
• Ensure proper stock rotation
• Conduct cycle counts as requested
• Report inventory discrepancies to inventory control team and assist in resolution
• Complete inspection form prior to operating equipment
• Use RF scanning equipment to ensure accuracy of inventory

Requirements

• Ability to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours
• Ability to lift and/or pull 50 lbs without restriction
• Ability to work in variable noise levels, lighting conditions and temperature variations
• Ability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
• Excel knowledge
• General computer knowledge
• Basic safety understanding in operating equipment
• Attention to detail
• Excellent customer service skills
• Basic math skills
• Ability to get NFI forklift certified

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred
• At least 3 months forklift experience and/or using warehouse distribution equipment
