Food Unit Lead

About This Role

Coordinate the activities of food service employees and ensure an enjoyable dining experience for customers, staff, and visitors while maintaining high standards for presentation, sanitation, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality customer service with attention to detail
• Oversee and participate in the preparation and service of food and beverage items
• Help plan menus
• Ensure timely and efficient meal service; supervise serving of meals
• Respond to customer complaints in person and via email
• Train employees; assign and coordinate work to promote efficiency and excellence
• Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow
• Use proper systems for daily/weekly/monthly reports such as inventory, cash reports, production records, payroll, and time-keeping
• Handle cash properly as established by the Food Accounting Manual
• Order food and other necessary supplies from approved sources or purveyors
• Direct and participate in the overall sanitation and safety of the facility and employees
• Develop sanitation schedule and ensure adherence for cleaning kitchen, dining area, utensils, and equipment
• Issue written and oral instructions
• Help select and orient employees; oversee staff training

Requirements

• ServSafe certification required upon hire

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen/management experience preferred
