Director of Nutrition and Wellness

About This Role

Lead the nutrition and wellness department for Duval County Public Schools, ensuring compliance with USDA K12 nutrition guidelines and strengthening a healthy culture. Develop innovative menu items and manage cycle menus to drive student participation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the wellness department and collaborate with operators on strengthening the culture of helping kids stay Happy & Healthy
• Own menu development, ensuring compliance with USDA K12 nutrition guidelines and client expectations
• Work closely with the Executive Chef and Supply Chain department to identify compliant and innovative menu items
• Develop new recipes and build cycle menus that will drive student participation
• Participate in senior leadership meetings and educate internal teams on risk management of food allergies and special diets
• Conduct on-site visits for quality control and engage with students to assess programming opportunities
• Interact and build relationships with stakeholders including clients, principals, students, peers, and vendors
• Understand and promote Company food philosophy, sustainability commitments, and nutrition programs
• Develops, implements, and/or tracks effectiveness of corporate nutrition and wellness programming

Requirements

• RD credentials
• Food Service Management Experience
• Minimum of five (5) years of Dietitian professional work experience
• Strong public speaking skills
• Ability to plan and deliver audience-appropriate presentations

Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferred
• Minimum of five (5) years of Dietitian professional work experience

• General Hospitality knowledge
• Interest in sustainability and sustainable food practices
