Food Service Representative

About This Role

Provide superior customer service in the bakery department by preparing, packaging, and merchandising fresh products. Maintain department and food safety standards while assisting customers with their selections and orders.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service to customers by phone or in person
• Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh bakery products daily
• Slice, package, label, rotate, and cull products for poor quality
• Assist in technical areas such as baking, frying, and decorating in the bakery
• Record production and shrink to aid in production planning
• Clean and sanitize display cases and operate/maintain equipment properly
• Comply with H-E-B food safety, sanitation standards, and operating procedures
• Use suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs

Requirements

• Minimum age of 18
• High school diploma, or equivalent
• Communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong customer service skills
• Knowledge of computer systems and equipment (PC, symbol, scales, label machine)
• Reading and writing skills
• Planning and organizing skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and manage in excess of 70 lbs (Bakery)
• Ability to lift 55 lbs and manage in excess of 65 lbs (Deli)

Qualifications

• High school diploma, or equivalent
