Flooring Technician

About This Role

Perform skilled flooring and some carpentry work to support the maintenance of District properties. This role involves maintaining equipment, completing work orders, and keeping accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled flooring work to support the maintenance of District facilities
• Identify and inspect maintenance and repair needs and safety concerns throughout District facilities
• Evaluate and make recommendations to supervisor for the most efficient methods of accomplishing repairs
• Read and interpret blueprints and other drawings
• Assist in estimating and planning project materials, costs and labor requirements
• Perform sub-flooring as needed for structural and finish repairs on buildings
• Install and/or assist in the installation of walls and ceiling systems, millwork, roofing systems and floor coverings, doors and windows
• Builds, alters, repairs, modifies and/or installs furnishings, fixtures and equipment
• Assist in instructing the work of helpers, laborers and/or contractors as assigned
• Assist in maintaining assigned trucks and equipment; perform cleaning, preventive maintenance and simple repair work

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• 4 years of related experience
• Valid Driver's License
