Float Pharmacist - PRN

About This Role

The Float Pharmacist ensures complete and appropriate drug therapy in a multidisciplinary pharmaceutical care environment. This role involves preparing, dispensing, and verifying medications while also assessing and monitoring patient drug therapy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and ensure complete and appropriate drug therapy in a multidisciplinary pharmaceutical care environment
• Prepare, dispense and verify medications ordered for an assigned group of patients
• Assess, evaluate and monitor patient drug therapy
• Provide drug information, patient education, and other clinical pharmacy services
• Evaluate all physician orders based on a clinical assessment of the patient
• Assure the safe and accurate preparation and dispensing of medications
• Manage drug therapy to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge, licensures and certifications through continuing education
• Manage the operations of the pharmacy in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Adapt behavior to the specific patient population

Requirements

• Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information
• Proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Skills necessary to compound pharmaceuticals and operate technical equipment
• Excellent interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
• None required

Nice to Have

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D)
