Fleet Maintenance Technician

About This Role

The Fleet Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general upkeep and preventative maintenance of the transit vehicle fleet. The primary objective is to ensure that safe, reliable, and efficient public transit vehicles are available for daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems and perform required repairs in a safe, timely, cost-effective manner
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance inspections and repairs as required
• Perform specific vehicle maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs, including test drives
• Remove, install, repair, disassemble, and assemble parts related to all mechanical and electrical systems on District buses and support vehicles
• Safely operate all tools and machinery required to perform work duties
• Assist with general facility and route maintenance
• Assist with snow removal of facilities and route stops as needed
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of reports and daily paperwork
• Follow company safety and operational rules and procedures
