Financial Analyst, GPC Hydro Generation

About This Role

The Financial Analyst will provide direction and training to generation team partners and peers, offering insight and influence on financial business decisions to drive growth, operational excellence, and process improvement. This role supports organizational goals by providing financial leadership, planning, and ensuring compliance, while acting as a financial subject matter expert and liaison for business units.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial leadership, planning, and support for organizational goals
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, laws, and regulations
• Establish and maintain effective relationships and communications with partners
• Act as a financial subject matter expert and liaison for business units
• Understand complex processes to translate and provide education to internal teams
• Identify gaps in documentation, training, and reporting
• Analyze financial risks and opportunities to influence business decisions
• Develop 5-year budgets annually with key stakeholders
• Make recommendations for allocation of resources and identification of cost savings opportunities
• Lead and/or manage special projects as required

Requirements

• B.S./B.A. in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
• Basic understanding of GAAP and FASB
• Knowledge of financial and accounting principles and procedures
• Familiarity with General Accounting Procedures and Corporate Guidelines
• Strength in communication and training for complex processes
• Firm grasp of key financial concepts (Net income, EPS, cash flow analysis, revenue requirements)

Qualifications

• B.S./B.A. in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
• Preferred 2+ years of budgeting, Finance, Accounting or similar experience.

Nice to Have

• Prior Power Generation experience
• Experience of database systems, ERP, or similar experience
