This Finance Analyst II position reviews, analyzes, and makes recommendations on the administration and management of LACERA's investment portfolio, focusing on areas like Credit and Risk Mitigation, Private Equity, or Portfolio Analytics to ensure effective investment strategies and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, and make recommendations on the administration and management of LACERA’s investment portfolio.
- Evaluate and monitor current contract investment management companies’ performance.
- Assist in the preparation of Requests for Proposals (RFP’s).
- Evaluate RFP responses.
- Conduct site inspections of LACERA owned property.
- Assist in the preparation of reports to the Board of Investments.
- Assist in determining asset allocations to contract management companies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
- Two years' investment management experience (can be substituted with Master's degree or 2 years' Finance Analyst I experience).
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field OR a Master's degree in Business Administration or related field.
- Two (2) years' responsible investment management experience assisting in the continuing supervision and review of an extensive investment program for a large financial institution or governmental agency. An additional two (2) years of the required experience may be substituted for a college degree.

- Experience conducting investment manager due diligence.
- Experience monitoring external investment managers for contractual compliance, investment performance, and conformance with guidelines.
- Experience assisting in the negotiation of terms with investment managers.
- Experience preparing and delivering presentations to decision-making bodies.
- Experience collaborating with colleagues, consultants, investment managers, and stakeholders on cross asset class project teams.
- Experience participating in asset class investment committees.
- Experience assisting with research on investment management strategy and structure.
