Field Technician Journeyman

About This Role

Lead and train other technicians to perform assigned jobs, ensuring safety and quality standards while communicating with customers and management regarding job progression.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train other technicians while performing assigned jobs
• Promote good attitudes and aesthetics that are represented of WPI
• Plan jobs with Regional Field Service Manager for correct parts, tools, and equipment
• Communicate daily with customers on progress or delays and obtain daily signed service tickets
• Promote safe work practices and ensure JSA and all HSE requirements are followed
• Keep Regional Field Service Manager/Leaderman informed of job progression daily
• Tag and turn in all warranty or core part items immediately upon job completion, including unit information
• Perform tasks with minimal supervision
• Perform GEW Service Bulletin upgrades as set by factory
• Complete all required paperwork including labor reporting and documentation of quality control and material movement

Requirements

• 4+ years working on Industrial Engines (gas/diesel, etc.)
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Attended and passed OEM Engine Specification and Design course or equivalent experience
• Valid driver license with driving record complying with WPI insurance requirements
• Knowledge of OEM equipment and proficient in troubleshooting
• Knowledge and experience of tooling
• Advanced mechanical principles and mathematics
• Blueprint & Schematic reading
• Proficient in electrical diagnostics
• Proficient in computer skills (basic operation, Windows, Microsoft Office)
• Knowledge of electronic controls such as PLCs, Murphy panels, Altronic, and ESM
• Supervisory and leadership skills
• Proficient using precision measuring tools
• Truck crane operation experience
• Own basic tooling for position

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 4 years working on Industrial Engines (gas/diesel, etc)
