Field Technician

About This Role

Midwest Compressor Systems is seeking a motivated Field Technician to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair natural gas compressors and related equipment. The role involves performing preventative maintenance, responding to service calls, and maintaining strong customer relationships, while upholding safety and professionalism standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair natural gas compressors and related equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and respond to service calls
• Maintain and manage a field service truck and inventory
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations
• Install, commission, and decommission compressor units (for Technician II & III)
• Diagnose complex issues (for Technician II & III)
• Interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams (for Technician II & III)

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to travel up to 30%
• Participate in on-call rotation
• Strong communication and basic computer skills
• Ability to work extended hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently (up to 100 lbs occasionally)
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to stand for long periods and navigate tight spaces

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• For Technician I: Entry level; For Technician II: 1-2 years of experience with natural gas compression equipment; For Technician III: 3-5 years of field service compressor experience
