Field Service Technician: Weekend Shift

About This Role

This role is responsible for expert diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of heavy equipment engines and components at customer jobsites, specifically for weekend shifts. The Field Service Technician will work independently and as part of a team, interacting with customers professionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert level diagnosis, troubleshooting and repair of all engine/components regardless of model/maker at customer jobsites
• Improvise using logic and critical thinking skills to make needed repairs
• Interact with customers on a professional level
• Prioritize workload while providing excellent customer service
• Repair Caterpillar and competitive components and machines
• Learn and apply new knowledge
• Function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment
• Work any shift and overtime as needed to meet business and customer demands

Requirements

• Thorough knowledge of engines, transmissions, electrical and other related components
• Ability to troubleshoot and analyze unique and high level problems/issues quickly
• Excellent mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work independently and part of a team
• Strong communication skills (oral and written)
• Self-directed and well organized with ability to prioritize workload
• Proficient use of technical software, databases and manuals
• Ability to repair Caterpillar and competitive components and machines

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of four years’ experience repairing heavy construction equipment preferred; minimum of three years relevant heavy equipment field experience required for $5,000 sign-on bonus; less than 3 years for $2,000 bonus.
