Provide on-site service and repair to truck-mounted equipment on railroad service vehicles for customers in an assigned geographical service area. This role involves diagnosing problems, making necessary repairs, and ensuring continuous improvement of truck equipment.
Responsibilities
- Travel to customer locations or work out of the Ft. Worth TX Shop when needed
- Cover an assigned geographical service area utilizing a company vehicle
- Communicate with customers to understand and diagnose problems
- Make necessary repairs and modifications to truck-mounted equipment
- Accurately estimate time and material required for repairs
- Problem solve under little or no supervision
- Inform and communicate suggestions and errors for continuous improvement of trucks
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years previous hands-on mechanical experience
- Operating within the 100-air mile radius
- Possess automotive troubleshooting skills
- Must have positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Must possess reading skills to utilize service manuals of equipment
- Strong mechanical repair skills
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with hand tools and diagnostic equipment
- Self-motivated, independent, and reliable with a strong work ethic
- Ability to obtain a DOT (Department of Transportation) medical card, if needed
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years previous hands-on mechanical experience
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, and/or pneumatics
- Welding and cutting torch experience
