About This Role

The Field Service Engineer provides remote and on-site technical support for BD Pyxis automated dispensing systems in healthcare facilities. This role involves diagnosing, servicing hardware and software, and ensuring an excellent service experience for customers. Daily travel within the assigned territory of Jacksonville, FL and occasionally overnight travel is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide remote and on-site technical support for BD Pyxis automated dispensing systems
  • Respond to, evaluate, and prioritize work orders, diagnosing and resolving issues regarding proprietary hardware and software system components
  • Maintain ownership of work orders, escalating issues to team lead and manager, and documenting all activity
  • Execute a preventive maintenance program and provide cross-functional support for Sales and Implementation teams
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems with moderate competency
  • Provide efficient field services including installations, in-servicing, repair, preventive maintenance, calibration, and sales support
  • Maintain proper and accurate small parts inventory for service purposes
  • Provide accurate and timely documentation detailing field activity, expenses, and time distribution
  • Continue training and self-development to learn products and applications, advancing skills for future growth
  • Maintain company assets (car, tools, and inventories) securely and in working order
  • Possess and maintain a working knowledge of corporate and service department procedures and policies
  • Work independently and in a team environment, escalating to team leadership for advanced troubleshooting when needed

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of technical field related work experience
  • 3-5 years of combination Hardware/Software/IT experience supporting both proprietary and standard applications
  • 24x7 on-call experience in a customer-facing/field service environment
  • Good mechanical, computer, verbal, written, and time management skills
  • Computer electronics, Windows OS, network experience
  • Ability to work within defined processes and methodologies with minimal supervision
  • Valid driver's license and meet BD's auto safety standards

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of technical field related work experience, combined Hardware/Software/IT experience supporting both proprietary and standard applications

Nice to Have

  • Associate Degree in Healthcare Technology
  • Customer Support Certification
  • Prior experience working as a hospital pharmacy technician or in a hospital Bio-Med environment
  • Prior military Bio-Med experience
  • Prior Automated Teller Machine (ATM) experience
