Farm Technician Livestock

About This Role

This role supports the Animal Science Program at Kentucky State University by assisting with the management and daily care of livestock, primarily goats and cattle, and maintaining farm grounds.

Responsibilities

• Manage operation of livestock
• Assist with kidding season management and processing newborn animals
• Assist with working animals for data collection and animal health
• Perform daily feeding and checks of goats and cattle
• Conduct grounds keeping, including mowing and weed eating pastures and fence lines
• Assist in the daily care of animals
• Perform weekend and night checks

Requirements

• Knowledge of Goats and Cattle
• Experience using farm machinery and equipment
• Effective oral and writing skills
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team
• Authorization to work for any employer in the United States

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
