Family Literacy Facilitator (Spanish Speaking)

About This Role

This role involves working directly with parents and children to promote intergenerational literacy activities and parenting skills, focusing on low-income families. The facilitator will conduct home visits, teach literacy and parenting lessons, and maintain documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct home visits
• Teach assigned parents and engage parent and child in literacy and learning activities
• Implement assigned literacy and parenting lessons during home visits
• Communicate with supervisors
• Conduct pre- and post- family literacy assessments
• Maintain and keep current required documentation
• Ensure flexibility in schedule to accommodate family's appointment needs
• Participate as an effective member of the Family Literacy Project team
• Submit reports in a timely manner
• Attend scheduled meetings and training

Requirements

• Must be a Spanish speaker
• Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
• Ability to work effectively with all populations
• High School Degree
• Experience serving families
