Serve as an Associate Degree in Nursing Adjunct Faculty member, correlating clinical experiences with theoretical components and planning engaging instructional materials for students. Supervise and evaluate student performance in clinical settings, maintaining clinical competency and fostering professional development.
Responsibilities
- Correlate clinical experiences with the theory component of the course as outlined in the syllabi and catalog
- Plan, prepare, and organize relevant teaching learning strategies and instructional materials for laboratory, simulation, and clinical student experience
- Create an environment conducive to learning
- Plan and supervise clinical experiences for students, including creating and posting the clinical schedule in the learning management system
- Maintain a liaison role between the assigned clinical agency(ies) and the program clinical coordinator
- Grade clinically-based written assignments as outlined in course syllabi
- Evaluate student performance in clinical course requirements in a systematic and objective manner
- Perform midterm and final evaluations of student performance
- Maintain student records related to clinical learning activities
- Maintain clinical competency in teaching assignment and current knowledge regarding agency policies
- Maintain scheduled office hours and/or availability to students
- Evaluate lab, simulation, and/or clinical teaching resources and materials for currency and relevancy and suggest revisions to the course chair
- Assist students in acquiring professional attitudes, knowledge, and behaviors
- Plan and prepare student application of technology-based clinical systems and software
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing or enrollment in a master’s or doctorate program
- Active unrestricted Utah Registered Nurse License (or compact state license)
- Clinical nursing expertise
- Compliance with clinical requirements (i.e., vaccinations, TB testing, CPR)
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing or currently enrolled in a master’s or doctorate program
Nice to Have
- Doctorate degree
- Previous Teaching Experience
Certifications
CPR certification
