This part-time faculty position is responsible for providing educational leadership and student instruction in welding and non-destructive testing areas. The role involves maintaining accurate student records and laboratory coordination.
Responsibilities
- Instruct and evaluate student performance in Welding/NDT areas including: SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, Robotic Welding, Welding Blueprint & Layout, Basic CNC Programming, and/or conventional NDT methods (visual, liquid penetrant, ultrasonic, radiographic, and magnetic particle testing).
- Maintain accurate written records of student performance.
- Assume responsibility for laboratory coordination and maintenance.
- Maintain communications with School administrators as appropriate.
- Requisition supplies, materials, tools, equipment, and maintenance as appropriate.
- Complete official student rosters and return to School office as required.
- Attend department meetings as requested.
- Maintain office hours according to contractual guidelines.
- Participate in school assessment process.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Welding, metal fabrication, nondestructive testing, or a related discipline
- Three (3) years of industrial experience in welding/NDT
- Interpersonal skills
- Sensitivity to expectations of students, faculty, and staff
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form
- Developed organizational skills
- Demonstrated sensitivity to diversity and multicultural issues
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Welding, metal fabrication, nondestructive testing, or a related discipline required; Bachelor's Degree in Welding Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
- Three (3) years of industrial experience in welding/NDT. Experience teaching welding at the secondary or postsecondary level preferred.

- Certified Welding Inspector-AWS
- Certified Welding Educator-AWS
- ASNT Level II VT, RT, UT, PT, and/or MT
