Supervise and coordinate the maintenance, renovation, and construction of government department buildings within the Northwest District Office. Ensure facilities are operational, safe, and compliant with relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the maintenance and operation of all district facilities and capital properties
- Coordinate maintenance and repair projects and programs for preventative maintenance, routine maintenance, janitorial, and other related services
- Conduct physical inspections of facilities and discuss facility needs with department personnel
- Create, review, or update necessary facility planning documents
- Submit facility-related requests for approval and inclusion in capital improvement and asset preservation programs
- Supervise the input and maintenance of facility data in automated systems for capital planning, asset management, and security
- Coordinate work with contractors, consulting firms, manufacturers, suppliers, and district personnel during construction and renovation
- Coordinate facilities-related issues involving occupational health and safety, physical security, environmental compliance, and emergency management
- Respond to facility-related emergencies
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED/HiSET
- Completion of a formal post-secondary technical training program (at least 30 credit hours and one school year in duration) in building trades (e.g., heating, air conditioning, carpentry, electrical wiring) AND six years of experience in building construction, building maintenance, or building design OR Seven years of experience in building construction, building maintenance, or building design
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED/HiSET, plus completion of a formal post-secondary technical training program (at least 30 credit hours and one school year in duration) in building trades such as heating, air conditioning, carpentry, or electrical wiring OR High School Diploma or GED/HiSET and seven years of experience in building construction, building maintenance, or building design
- Six years of experience in building construction, building maintenance, or building design with technical training, or seven years of experience in building construction, building maintenance, or building design
