Experienced Registered Nurse - Resource Pool (Part-Time)

About This Role

As a Professional Staff Nurse, you will provide comprehensive nursing care, manage patient activities, and collaborate with healthcare teams to achieve desired patient outcomes within a healing environment.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in department or unit-specific quality improvement efforts
• Identify opportunities for quality improvement and influence patients' plans of care through evidence-based practice
• Apply the nursing process within Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment, formulating daily goals and patient care plans
• Demonstrate critical thinking in identifying clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues for patient care
• Translate patient's condition to other care providers and negotiate recommendations for changes in patient care and unit practices
• Develop and maintain productive working relationships, demonstrating accountability, enthusiasm, motivation, and commitment
• Exhibit an understanding of cultural differences and hold peers accountable for healthy relationships
• Demonstrate accountability for professional development, actively participating in shared governance, goal setting, and improving quality of practice
• Teach patients, families, students, and new staff, providing detailed and appropriate guidance through the episode of care
• Support the development of students, new staff, and colleagues, potentially serving as a preceptor

Requirements

• BSN required
• Current RN licensure
• Critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities related to patient care
• Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with diverse stakeholders

Qualifications

• BSN required
• Zero to two years of experience (graduate nurses welcome, experience preferred for premium shifts)

Nice to Have

• UPMC approved national certification preferred
