Experienced Climbing Arborist

About This Role

This role involves trimming and removing trees, including diseased or unwanted limbs, to ensure the health and safety of trees and surrounding areas. The Arborist will operate as a key crew member, performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully
• Prune, thin, and remove deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems
• Remove hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts

Requirements

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire

Nice to Have

• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
