Executive Educational Underwriter, Public Entity

About This Role

Underwrite and manage a portfolio of educational K-12 accounts, focusing on profitability and building strong relationships with brokers and agents. This role involves making analytical, data-driven decisions on complex policies and contributing to product development.

Responsibilities

• Manage portfolio of brokers/agents and clients, leveraging market presence to develop and underwrite profitable business.
• Maintain a strong market presence and established relationships with agents and brokers, and develop new ones.
• Contribute ideas for product development and participate in development and execution.
• Collaborate effectively across teams, stakeholders, and partners.
• Mentor junior underwriters and new hires.
• Analyze department`s portfolio and make suggestions for development.
• Recognize and communicate emerging trends of exposures within line of business expertise.

Requirements

• Proven analytical ability to evaluate and judge underwriting risks within scope of responsibility
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex analyses and information in understandable written and/or oral directives
• Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with internal and external stakeholders
• Comprehension of most complex technical underwriting issues and capable of defining and implementing necessary underwriting and administrative processes/workflows
• Proven track record of developing and underwriting profitable business

Qualifications

• Degree in Business or equivalent
• A minimum of 7 years expected, typically 10 years or more, of progressive underwriting experience and/or other related business experience
