Executive Educational Underwriter, Public Entity

About This Role

Underwrite complex and high-value educational K-12 public entity accounts, managing a portfolio of brokers and clients for a company with over 50 years of experience in this specialized insurance space.

Responsibilities

• Manage portfolio of brokers/agents and clients.
• Leverage market presence and knowledge to develop and underwrite profitable business.
• Act as a representative for Liberty Mutual.
• Maintain a strong market presence, including established relationships with agents and brokers.
• Strengthen existing relationships and develop new ones.
• Contribute ideas for product development and participate in development and execution.
• Contribute to team projects (e.g., process / tool improvement).
• Understand the work implications of relevant legislation and regulation.
• Collaborate effectively across teams, stakeholders, and partners.
• Mentor junior underwriters and new hires (not as a line manager).

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years progressive underwriting experience and/or other related business experience
• Proven analytical ability to evaluate and judge underwriting risks within scope of responsibility
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex analyses and information in understandable written and/or oral directives
• Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with internal and external stakeholders
• Comprehension of most complex technical underwriting issues and capability of defining and implementing necessary underwriting and administrative processes/workflows
• Proven track record of developing and underwriting profitable business

Qualifications

• Degree in Business or equivalent typically required
• Minimum of 7 years, typically 10 years or more, of progressive underwriting experience and/or other related business experience
