ESD Lead

About This Role

This role involves overseeing a team of Environmental Services Workers to maintain a clean and safe hospital environment for patients and staff. The lead will ensure daily tasks are completed, communicate with hospital personnel, and provide specialized services as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of E.S.D. workers in ensuring daily activities are completed according to established protocols and standards
• Follow all policies and procedures related to chemical usage
• Operate and maintain service-related equipment
• Communicate with hospital staff, patients, families, and visitors in English
• Respond to non-routine service calls
• Provide relief coverage for ESD employees' absences
• Orient new employees to areas and other hospital staff
• Provide specialized services such as regulated medical waste packing, distribution of supplies, moving furniture/equipment, etc.
• Use communication systems and assist with hospital emergencies

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED
• 2-3 years of related experience with Environmental services
• Ability to read, understand, add, subtract, and compare numbers/letters
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in English

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required
• 2 to 3 years of related experience with Environmental services is required and leading a team is preferred

• Experience leading a team
• Experience with Floor Care machinery
