Environmental Service Associate

About This Role

The Environmental Service Associate maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of an assigned hospital area, adhering to departmental and regulatory standards. This role involves performing various housekeeping duties to ensure a sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and staff while working effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assemble necessary cleaning supplies and equipment, load utility cart, and transport to work areas according to instructions.
• Clean assigned areas by performing a variety of housekeeping duties including cleaning, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing, and polishing.
• Inspect areas upon completion of cleaning to ensure appropriate levels of cleanliness are achieved.
• Prepare cleaning solutions according to written instructions on labels.
• Perform routine discharge room cleaning per established guidelines and protocols within designated timeframes.
• Remove soiled linen from discharge rooms and remake beds with fresh linen in the prescribed manner.
• Notify the team leader of needed maintenance repairs in assigned areas.
• Clean and store equipment regularly in the porter closet or assigned storage area.
• Log on and off Interserv and log tasks on Interserv per GBMC policy.
