About This Role

Assist the lab manager and other technicians in conducting experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and maintaining equipment within the laboratory and field settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lab manager and other lab technicians in conducting experiments in the laboratories and field
• Prepare for testing activities
• Conduct experiments according to instructions and established engineering standards
• Collect and summarize data; report findings to Lab Managers and Research Scientists
• Prepare and test samples
• Maintain laboratory and equipment to ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety compliance
• Notify the manager about equipment issues and needed supplies

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to use power and hand tools
• Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software (Word & Excel)
• Skill in the use of calculators, computers, and software applications
• Ability to schedule, organize, and conduct laboratory tests
• Knowledge of basic mathematics and simple statistical calculations
• Knowledge of testing materials
• Skill in the maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment
• Skill in the preparation of test specimens and use of laboratory/field-testing procedures and equipment

Nice to Have

• Training, experience, or education in Civil Engineering Technology, or related field
• ACI Concrete Field-Testing Certification
• ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician Certification
