This role involves providing programmatic leadership and technical expertise in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) within the Naval Surface Warfare Center. You will focus on the application of modeling, system-of-systems requirements, and the development of Systems Modeling Language (SysML) models to produce architectural technical baselines.
Responsibilities
- Provide programmatic leadership in processes, interfaces, and specific data through formalized application of modeling for the program office
- Support system-of-systems requirements development, architecture, requirements allocation, design, analysis, and verification and validation activities
- Establish the development process of Systems Modeling Language (SysML) models to produce systems engineering artifacts and technical documentation
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to a team of system engineers in MBSE efforts
Requirements
- US Citizen
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test
- Certification in Acquisition Functional Area within established timeframes (DAWIA)
- Professional engineering degree or equivalent qualifications
Qualifications
- Professional engineering degree (BS or higher in an ABET accredited program or equivalent coursework), or current Engineer Intern/Professional Engineer registration, or successful completion of FE exam, or 60 semester hours in physical/mathematical/engineering sciences, or bachelor's in appropriate scientific field with professional engineering experience.
- At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) grade level in the Federal service or equivalent in the private/public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate technical guidance and leadership on projects involving model-based system engineering or model-based software technology for design, development, allocation, or integration of model-based system engineering products for an organization.
