This role involves leading the overall service, recommendations, and implementation of a book of employee benefits insurance business. You will provide professional guidance and expertise to clients and be responsible for business development and sales.
Responsibilities
- Manage an assigned book of business comprised of key and high revenue-producing accounts
- Lead and develop a team of Account Managers and Account Associates
- Apply independent and discretionary judgment to make decisions on books of insurance business based on industry knowledge
- Acquire understanding of clients’ business and insurance objectives and critically analyze insurance plans
- Build strong relationships with internal customers and external trading partners
- Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing directly with insurance carriers
- Lead resolution of escalated complex service issues between clients and insurance carriers
- Lead client meetings, independent from producer or manager as needed
- Support, mentor, and train Account Managers and Account Representatives
- Develop new business from existing accounts and assigned leads, contributing to departmental production goals
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in an insurance Employee Benefits Account Management role
- Currently licensed in good standing in required lines and states with all necessary CE credits
- Excellent customer service, analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Office and automated agency management systems
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; College Degree preferred
- 7+ years of experience and demonstrated proficiency in an insurance Employee Benefits Account Management role

- Brokerage experience
- Leadership experience and independent responsibility for client retention
- Ability to lead and influence in a team environment
- College Degree
- Advanced professional designation (e.g. AAI, ARM, CIC)
