Provide excellent, in-the-moment care for sick and injured patients, including triaging, diagnosing, developing treatment plans, performing surgeries, and managing hospitalized patients, supported by a dedicated team.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent, in-the-moment care for patients in emergency situations
- Triage and assess critical needs of patients
- Care for sick and injured patients arriving on an emergency basis
- Manage hospitalized patients
- Assess patients and diagnose illnesses
- Develop treatment plans for emergency and hospitalized patients
- Oversee technicians carrying out treatment plans
- Perform surgeries
- Provide critical care
- Ensure a high level of service for all patients in the emergency department
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree
- State Veterinary Board License (active and in good standing)
- Active DEA license or DEA licensure eligible
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree
- Experience in emergency medicine including work experience, small animal rotating or emergency internships is strongly recommended.
