This role involves providing comprehensive emergency veterinary care, including diagnostics, surgery, and client communication, within a 24-hour facility equipped with state-of-the-art technology. The Veterinarian will maintain clinical engagement while benefiting from predictable hours and a supportive team.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups
- Communicate and educate clients effectively
- Conduct diagnostic procedures and surgery
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Manage pharmacy duties including prescribing medications and controlled substance protocols
- Promote teamwork and staff efficiency
- Collaborate with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations
- Evaluate and monitor protocols for hospital operations from intake to discharge
- Monitor cases in the hospital and attend daily rounds to ensure high standards are upheld
- Participate in practice management updates and training
Requirements
- Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD)
- Current State Veterinary License
- DEA registration
- 1+ years of experience in emergency practice
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
- Excellent surgical and dental skills
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality veterinary care
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Client communication skills
- Ability to display confidence and reassurance with pets experiencing stress, illness, or pain
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Qualifications
- Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university
- 1+ years of experience in emergency practice
