Emergency Department Registered Nurse

About This Role

This role involves providing direct patient care as an Emergency Department Registered Nurse, utilizing the nursing process, and coordinating patient care in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Compiles database and formulates nursing diagnosis
• Utilizes physical assessment and interviewing techniques
• Initiates and updates a written nursing plan of care for patients
• Coordinates patient, family, significant other, and health team members in planning hospital and post-discharge care
• Performs clinical nursing skills independently
• Communicates the patient's status and plan of care through written documentation
• Manages daily patient assignment by appropriately setting priorities
• Delegates responsibility appropriately and monitors nursing care delivered by ancillary personnel
• Develops, documents and implements Patient Teaching and Discharge Planning Record
• Participates in clinical monitoring at the unit level

Requirements

• Associate Degree from an accredited School of Nursing
• Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses as a Registered Nurse
• Healthcare Provider CPR biennial
• Additional certifications (i.e. ACLS, PALS, NRP) for specialty care areas
• One-year Registered Nurse experience

Qualifications

• Associate Degree from an accredited School of Nursing
• One-year Registered Nurse experience required
