Electrical Estimator

About This Role

Prepare electrical contract proposal estimates, perform take-offs on systems, material, and equipment, and support field operations regarding estimates.

Responsibilities

• Prepare proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
• Attend pre-bid meetings and/or tour job sites to confirm requisite take-offs
• Prepare estimates by calculating complete take-off of scope of work, using Accubid estimating software
• Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including pricing information from suppliers
• Support other department personnel as required, including preparing estimates in other disciplines
• Review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials
• Provide support to field operations regarding electrical estimates
• Understand and interpret current NEC chapters 1 & 2

Requirements

• High school degree or equivalent
• 5+ years estimating, controls and/or engineering experience related to electrical construction
• Proficiency with Accubid or similar estimating software
• Working knowledge of multiple disciplines, estimating techniques and cost control
• Ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems
• Ability to perform detailed work and successfully meet deadlines

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent; some technical training or advanced education preferred
• At least 5 years estimating, controls and/or engineering experience related to electrical construction
