Electrical Estimator II

About This Role

This Electrical Estimator II role involves the accurate and timely preparation of commercial construction project proposals and bids. The position is responsible for identifying and computing labor, material, and time costs by studying various bid documents. This role plays a key part in the estimating team for a leading construction and engineering services company.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely commercial construction project proposals and bids
• Identify and compute labor, material, and time costs by studying proposals, blueprints, and specifications
• Visit project and pre-bid meetings to understand site conditions and scope
• Review plans and specifications
• Provide accurate take-off
• Work with the estimating team to build estimates and pricing
• Develop preliminary schedules

Requirements

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented
• Strong working knowledge of estimating software like Cost-OS, OST and Planswift
• Working knowledge of programs such as Bluebeam, Excel, and Word
• Well-rounded base of knowledge in construction disciplines
• 3+ years previous commercial construction experience with public, private or federal projects
• B.S. Degree in Construction Management or Engineering
