Electrical Estimator II

About This Role

This position involves the accurate and timely preparation of commercial construction project proposals and bids as an Electrical Estimator II. The role requires identifying and computing labor, material, and time costs by studying various bid documents. This individual will contribute to Yates Construction's commitment to safety, integrity, and client value.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely commercial construction project proposals and bids
• Identify and compute labor, material, and time costs by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications and other bid documents
• Visit project and pre-bid meetings to understand site conditions/scope
• Review plans and specifications
• Provide accurate take-off
• Work with estimating team to build the estimate and pricing
• Develop preliminary schedule

Requirements

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented
• Strong working knowledge of estimating software like Cost-OS, OST and Planswift
• Working knowledge of programs such as Bluebeam, Excel, and Word
• Well-rounded base of knowledge in construction disciplines
• 3+ years previous commercial construction experience with public, private or federal projects

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree – Construction Management or Engineering
• 3+ years previous commercial construction experience with public, private or federal projects

Nice to Have

• Civil estimating experience
