Electric Power Generation (EPG) Rental Technician

About This Role

The EPG Rental Technician is responsible for servicing, diagnosing, and repairing Electric Power Generation (EPG) rental equipment, including power, temperature control, air, and pumps. This role ensures customer equipment operates efficiently and provides timely support both on-site and in customer facilities.

Responsibilities

• Service, diagnose and repair EPG rental equipment for power, temperature control, air, pumps and used equipment
• Support all PSD rental equipment independently in the field as needed
• Diagnose and troubleshoot engine failures and perform mechanical repairs to electrical generator systems and related equipment
• Perform product improvement plans on Gensets, air compressors, fuel tanks, pups, UPS and paralleling
• Be available for after-hours emergency service requests for customers (24/7/365)
• Work additional hours and travel out of town, including out of the country to meet customers’ demands
• Utilize electronic software for use and application
• Promote a positive customer experience and uphold Carter Machinery's Core Values

Requirements

• Thorough understanding of Gensets, air compressors, fuel tanks, and pumps
• Ability to perform product improvement plans on Gensets, air compressors, fuel tanks, pups, UPS and paralleling
• Ability to work independently in the field to support all PSD rental equipment
• Advanced troubleshooting skills
• Strong communication skills (oral and written)
• Well organized and ability to prioritize workload while providing excellent customer service
• Excellent driving record

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous experience with UPS and parallels, diagnosing and troubleshooting engine failures and performing mechanical repairs to electrical generator systems and related equipment
