About This Role

Perform a variety of echocardiography procedures, including M-mode, 2D, Doppler, and Stress Echocardiography, and assist with Transesophageal Echocardiography. This role involves training new personnel, maintaining inventory, and ensuring accurate charting and filing.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the training of new personnel
  • Conduct/participate in in-service training classes
  • Perform all aspects of echocardiography (M-mode, 2D, Spectral and Color Flow Doppler, Stress Echocardiography)
  • Assist with Trans esophageal Echocardiography
  • Use Telemedicine equipment for pediatric echocardiography
  • Ensure proper charting, filing, and charging of all Echocardiography procedures
  • Perform Computerized Patient Scheduling on an as needed basis
  • Maintain adequate inventory of supplies for procedures
  • Participate in hospital and departmental on-going Performance Improvement activities

Requirements

  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (ARDMS or CCI)
  • Basic Life Support (BCLS)
  • Detailed knowledge of cardiac anatomy and disease processes
  • Ability to perform detailed measurements and calculations
  • Knowledge and use of computerized ultrasound and echocardiography equipment
  • Knowledge and use of telemedicine equipment for image transmission

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree (Registered Cardiac Sonographer, graduate of accredited ultrasound program or NMMC Echo Internship)
  • 1-3 years work experience not required due to on job training program (preferred)

  • Basic and Advanced Cardiology Classes
  • 1-3 years related work experience
