DOT Delivery Driver

About This Role

Safely and efficiently deliver and pick up customer packages and mail, maintaining federal DOT compliance and providing strong customer service.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper receiving, sorting, and PO processing of packages and mail
• Properly load and secure packages and mail in the delivery vehicle
• Pick up mail and packages from customer stops/areas
• Deliver mail and packages to the correct delivery points
• Maintain log books in accordance with DOT regulations (Electronic or manual)
• Perform pre and post trip reviews to ensure vehicle safety, cleanliness, and DOT compliance
• Participate in Safety Programs
• Pre-call customers when applicable
• Identify customer's needs and determine appropriate action
• Maintain professional dress appearance per site dress code
• Ensure all paperwork is signed and properly processed
• Load and off-load trucks as required
• Follow all accident/incident reporting guidelines and procedures
• Meet appropriate productivity/quality standards
• Operate and use warehouse equipment such as forklift, stair climber, and pallet jack
• Assist with back up training for new delivery drivers on current routes

Requirements

• Safe driving record and history
• Eligibility to drive a commercial vehicle according to FMCSR regulations
• At least 20 years of age
• Properly licensed in current state of residence
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read maps and electronic GPS
• Ability to physically handle oversized and overweight packages (up to 50 pounds)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education

Nice to Have

• Familiarity utilizing and learning smart phones and/or tablets with handheld electronic technology
• Certification on operation and use of warehouse equipment (forklift, stair climber)
