About This Role

This role is responsible for leading Asset Protection initiatives across multiple retail locations, focusing on theft and fraud mitigation, operational excellence, and safety. The manager will coach and train store associates and leadership on Asset Protection strategies and collaborate with district and regional teams to achieve business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the execution of Merchandise Protection Standards, Pick Ticket, and Lockup programs
  • Review Front End Accuracy standards including Accuracy/Theft and Fraud initiatives and G.E.T initiatives
  • Ensure stores promote a strong safety culture and follow post orders for 3rd Party Guards
  • De-escalate serious incidents and threats of violence in partnership with DHRM and DM
  • Teach, coach, and train store leadership and associates on theft/fraud, operational shrink, and shrink mitigation initiatives
  • Build relationships and engage with Government Relations and Law Enforcement for localized support
  • Perform timely entry of internal cases into the case management system and review alerts and physical security
  • Identify key theft trends by class and SKU to create solutions for internal and external theft
  • Conduct timely interviews for internal theft cases identified by MAPM or Central Investigations Team (CIT)
  • Review, approve, or reject external cases submitted by Asset Protection Specialists
  • Build partnerships with local law enforcement to strengthen The Home Depot's brand
  • Recruit, staff, and schedule Asset Protection associates based on business needs and theft trends
  • Conduct performance reviews and utilize performance management for Asset Protection associates
  • Coach and train associates on proper safety behaviors and environmental/regulatory processes, including Handling Hazardous Materials (HHM) program and Store Readiness Checklist (SRC)

Requirements

  • 3+ years multi-unit retail AP experience
  • Lead a team with a focus of external/internal theft
  • Conducting internal investigations to include interviews
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of presentation software (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to negotiate, handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances with both internal and external customers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be able to work a flexible retail schedule and support multi-store locations

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent in a field of study related to the job.
  • 3+ years of multi-unit retail Asset Protection experience in a leadership role, with a focus on external/internal theft and conducting internal investigations.

Nice to Have

  • Organized Retail Crime elements and law enforcement partnerships
  • Utilization/management of physical security and investigations systems (CCTV, Alarm, Exception Based Reporting)
