About This Role

This role involves ensuring all dishes and utensils are cleaned, sanitized, and stored correctly to support efficient dining services in a senior living community. The Dishwasher contributes to a safe, clean, and professional kitchen and dining environment.

Responsibilities

• Support a positive customer service culture in the dining room
• Transport dishes to the kitchen and maintain a clean dining area
• Clear, wash, and sanitize dishes, utensils, and tabletop items
• Return dishes and utensils to appropriate storage areas
• Ensure safe work practices for yourself and coworkers
• Complete sanitation and cleanup tasks for dish room, kitchen, dining areas, steam tables, sinks, and drains
• Empty trash and follow daily cleaning schedules
• Assist with serving residents in the dining room as needed
• Maintain flexibility with daily schedule, including weekends or evenings
• Display friendliness and professionalism when interacting with residents, families, and visitors

Requirements

• Obtain Food Handlers Permit as required by state regulations
• Must be 18 years or older
• Meet health requirements including health screening and TB clearance
• Pass state-required fingerprinting and criminal background check
• First Aid certification required
• Compassion for and desire to work with older adults
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to understand and follow instructions
• Ability to plan and organize tasks
• Self-motivated with strong customer service work ethic

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience in food service or customer service preferred
