About This Role

Lead the Hugh Hodgson School of Music, overseeing general leadership, academic program development, fiscal management, and fundraising. Recruit and develop faculty and staff, serving as an advocate for the school and contributing to its growth in stature.

Responsibilities

• Provide general leadership of the Hodgson School
• Oversee comprehensive program development
• Manage fiscal operations
• Develop funding for scholarships, graduate assistantships, endowed positions, technology, facilities, and other School needs
• Recruit and develop faculty and staff
• Serve as an advocate for the Hodgson School both on and off campus
• Contribute to the growth in stature of the Hodgson School and the local and regional arts community

Requirements

• Distinguished record of creative/scholarly achievements
• Eligible as a full professor with tenure at the time of appointment
• Tenured at a prior institution with a demonstrably national reputation (for tenure upon appointment)

Qualifications

• An earned terminal degree in music or a related area

Nice to Have

• Demonstrated track record of successfully leading a school or department of music
• Potential for appointment as an endowed professor
• Ability to articulate a vision for guiding the Hodgson School to increased national and international prominence
• Skills in the area of fundraising and development
