Direct and lead all aspects of the operational needs of the Housekeeping Department. Coordinate tasks of Assistant Directors and Operations Managers, and serve as a liaison between administration and hospital departments.
Responsibilities
- Manage department’s financial data and statistics, including monitoring unit expenditures and developing/recommending the operating budget
- Coordinate housekeeping activities with other departments and actively communicate with administration and other hospital departments
- Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and supervise functions and activities of the department
- Establish work standards, workflow, and implement policies and procedures for departmental operations
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies and proactively achieve facility goals and objectives
- Demonstrate quality leadership in meeting performance plans and administer the Total Quality Management process
- Develop and maintain job descriptions for department staff and encourage staff participation in education programs
- Encourage and mentor staff creativity and innovation
Requirements
- Six years of housekeeping management experience at a healthcare account
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial and other data
- General business acumen
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- High customer service and quality attitude
- Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
- Public speaking skills
- Ability to utilize a participative approach to managing staff
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
- Ability to develop budgets with a complete understanding of facility needs and requirements
- Excellent stress management skills
- Administrative and organizational skills
- Follow-through (with associates and clients) skills
- Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Qualifications
- Four year college degree and/or equal related experience
- Six years of housekeeping management experience at a healthcare account
