About This Role

This role is responsible for major gift fundraising for the College of Architecture and Construction Management at Kennesaw State University. The Director will identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects to support academic excellence and community partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain continuous contact with key volunteers, prospects, donors, and lapsed donors through various communication channels
  • Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects for assigned Colleges, Centers, Programs, Institutes, and/or special initiatives
  • Focus on individual, corporate, and foundation prospects primarily at the $100,000 level and above, focusing on prospect gifts of $1 million or more
  • Coordinate solicitation and communicate frequently with colleagues in the department and across the University community
  • Research industry standards, trends, breakthroughs, and best practices in fundraising
  • Implement changes to maintain competitiveness among peers and meet strategic goals and objectives
  • Design solicitation strategies on a case-by-case basis, considering development and college office needs
  • Assist Deans, Administration, Foundation, AVP, and other Division leadership in planning and implementing fundraising and alumni activities
  • Collaborate with the KSU Alumni Association to offer engagement opportunities with Nest activities and alumni engagement strategies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license
  • 3+ years of related work experience
  • Knowledge of donor database, contact management and tracking systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field
  • Three (3) years of related work experience. Preferred experience includes cultivating and soliciting major gifts of $50,000 and above, including campaign experience, and prior experience in a college or university setting.

  • Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
  • Expertise in developing solicitation strategies
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles, methods, and standards
  • Experience in cultivating and soliciting major gifts of $50,000 and above from individual, foundation and corporate prospects
  • Campaign experience
  • Prior experience in a college or university setting
  • Enthusiasm for fundraising in a comprehensive university
