Director of Catering

About This Role

Lead catering and events operations, managing a team and client relations to ensure outstanding quality catering services. Be actively involved in staff development, menu presentation, and operational success including cost controls.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee internal and external catering events
• Develop and maintain the catering marketing plan, including event planning service and detailed menu development
• Hire, train, and schedule catering staff
• Actively involve in the development of existing catering staff in-service techniques, menu presentation, policies, and procedures
• Ensure successful operations of catering functions, including labor cost control
• Manage food cost control and preparation
• Oversee transportation, setup, operation, and cleanup of all events

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in the hospitality industry
• 2 years of experience in catering management
• Experience with booking, selecting and costing menu items, pricing contracts, and resourcing temporary help and equipment
• Ability to supervise food preparation, service, and cleanup

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality or Culinary Arts is required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the hospitality industry, including 2 years in management (preferably Catering Management)
